It is 15 years later. Rilla is the prime protector of her family who now live as nomads, and it is time to move again as resources are getting scarce. However, Rilla’s sister has fallen ill and cannot move. Mother begs Rilla to go find food, though they both know the search will be futile. In her despair, Rilla cries out in the forest. Unbeknownst to her, the Goddesses hear her cry and carry it to one who can help.
